About FixedDepositRates.sg and how rates are collected
FixedDepositRates.sg lists the Singapore dollar fixed deposit rates that banks and finance companies publish on their own websites. We do not take deposits, sell products or give advice.
Method
- An automated check reads each institution's public rate page at least once a day, identifying itself as FixedDepositRatesBot and respecting robots.txt.
- Every rate shown was read from the bank's page. Each bank page links to its source and shows when it was fetched, plus any date the bank itself shows.
- Rates outside 0.01%–6.0% p.a. or tenures outside 1–60 months are rejected as parsing errors. Nothing is estimated or filled in.
- If a page cannot be read, the last good rates are kept for up to 72 hours with a "Last good rate" label, then removed.
- A rate that moves by more than 1.0 percentage point from one day to the next is shown on the bank page but kept out of the rankings until the next check confirms it.
- When a promotion's end date (as shown by the bank) has passed, it is labelled and dropped from the rankings.
- Rankings are by rate only. The main table includes only rates open to regular personal customers; priority / premier and new-to-bank rates are shown separately.
- Deposit-plus-investment bundles, structured deposits and dual-currency investments are excluded: they are investment products, not plain fixed deposits, and are not insured by SDIC. GXS Bank is not listed.
- Each day's rates are saved as a snapshot; the changes log and monthly pages are generated from those snapshots.
Sponsored placements and affiliate links
Paid placements, if any, are labelled "Sponsored" and referral links "Affiliate link". They appear outside the rankings and never change the order or the rates shown. See How we make money.
